Cookie policy
This website sets one cookie of its own, and only once you sign in. It stores a few small settings in your browser so the site works the way you left it. If you accept, Microsoft Clarity also sets cookies to help us see how the site is used; if you decline or don’t answer, it never loads. There are no advertising cookies.

What cookies are
Cookies are small files a website asks your browser to keep and send back on your next visit. Browsers also let a website keep small notes of its own in your browser (“local storage” and “session storage”); these never leave your device unless the site sends them. The law on cookies, the UK’s Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations and the EU ePrivacy Directive, treats both alike: a site may use them without asking only when they are strictly necessary for something you asked for.
What this site stores
| Name | Kind | What it is for | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
crl_session |
Cookie, strictly necessary | Keeps you signed in after you sign in. It holds a random code and nothing else; scripts can’t read it, and it is only sent to this site. | Until you close your browser or sign out; 30 days if you tick “Remember me” |
crl-theme |
Local storage, a setting you chose | Remembers whether you picked the light theme, the dark one or your device’s. It stays in your browser and is never sent to us. | Until you clear your browser’s site data |
acp-…-url |
Session storage, staff only | In the staff control panel, remembers the list and search you came from so the “Back” link returns to it. It stays in your browser. | Until you close the tab |
crl-consent |
Local storage, a setting you chose | Remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics cookies, so we don’t ask on every page. It stays in your browser. | Until you clear your browser’s site data |
These are strictly necessary for something you asked for: to stay signed in, to keep the theme you picked, to go back to where you were, or to keep your cookie choice. None of them is used to track you, to measure visits or for advertising.
Analytics, only if you accept
We use Microsoft Clarity (opens in a new tab) to see how people use the website: which pages they visit, where they click and scroll, and where they get stuck, shown as heatmaps and as recordings of visits. It helps us fix what is confusing or broken. Clarity hides what you type into forms, and on your account pages it hides all the text. It never runs in the staff control panel.
Clarity loads only after you press Accept in the cookie banner. Until then, and if you press Decline, none of its scripts are fetched and none of these cookies are set.
| Name | Set by | What it is for | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
_clck |
Microsoft Clarity, on this site | A random identifier, so that Clarity can tell your later visits from other visitors’ | 1 year |
_clsk |
Microsoft Clarity, on this site | Joins the pages you see in one visit into one recording | 1 day |
CLID |
Microsoft, on clarity.ms | Recognises the same browser across the websites that use Clarity | 1 year |
You can change your mind at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every public page, or the button under “Your choices”. Declining after accepting deletes Clarity’s cookies on this site; the CLID cookie is on Microsoft’s own site, and you can delete it in your browser’s settings. What Clarity collects, and how long Microsoft keeps it, is in our privacy policy.
Other sites
If you link your Discord account in Settings, or follow a link to our Discord server, you go to discord.com, which sets its own cookies under its own privacy policy (opens in a new tab). Apart from Microsoft Clarity, and only if you accept it, nothing on this site lets anyone else set cookies while you are here.
Your choices
You can accept or decline analytics cookies in the banner, and change your choice at any time; the site works the same either way.
You can also delete this site’s cookies and settings at any time in your browser’s settings, or block them. The public pages work without them; you won’t be able to stay signed in without the crl_session cookie, the theme will go back to light, and you’ll be asked about analytics again.
For what else we keep about you, and your rights, see the privacy policy. Questions go to the staff on our Discord (opens in a new tab).
